Got this in a lot of other seconhand bottles and was very plesantly surprised. Heaps of other notes exist, i do get a bit of curry leaves or cumin during dry dowb but black pepper is the strongest spice for me throughout. I dont get the sweat vibe others mention, jeez I wish my body oddor smelt like this!

Declaration by Cartier is a Woody Floral Musk fragrance for men. The nose behind this fragrance is Jean-Claude Ellena. its just very natural and unique spicy that is down to earth. back in the days when I was just starting this fragrance journey, this was my signature scent.

A lack of quality, projection, longevity and compliment frequency are the main reasons this scent doesn’t warrant a score of 4. Feel like i'm going 'against the current' by seeing the amount of people that like this fragrance.

Quality: 3 out of 5 – It’s smells good, but doesn’t make a lasting impression. I’m not sure if reacts to my skin chemistry differently on different days but it does it more than any other scent I own.

The Indian food phenomena people talk about, I have unfortunately experienced on occasion.

Having trouble detecting the mandarin but I think it's there in the "freshness" that this has.

Bitter orange I can definitely smell as well, more the rind of the bitter orange.

The top note is long lasting and good, but 30-35 minutes laters the perfume become a little bit unpleasnt, and oldfashioned. In the mid notes I recognize much cardamom and pepper with less iris and ginger.

This part of the scent is also wearable and good, but I said too spicy for my taste. All I get is a very sour combination of tea and vetiver, with a high dose of body odor.I wonder how rose is not one of those many notes listed above. Its basically rose, a bit of orange, ginger and tea leaves.Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 – Good – The positives outweigh the negatives, but there are still better fragrances out there. This fragrance will appeal to people who like a certain scent enough to tolerate its flaws. There really is a lot going on here but the dominant notes here are the ethnic spices, this reminds me of walking through a crowded street in Mumbai.
